Reproducibility Policy

As of April 2023 Sociological Science has adopted a reproducibility policy. Accepted papers must provide a replication package prior to publication, unless an exception is granted. Replication packages are not required at the time of manuscript submission.

Author identification

Please remove all identifying information from the manuscript itself.

When submitting the manuscript using the “Submit Manuscript” button above, please list ALL authors of the paper, not simply the corresponding author. Use the “Add another author” link under Author Details for each additional author. Please refer to this image.

Manuscript Preparation

Manuscripts should be submitted as Portable Document Format (PDF) files with 11 or 12 pt font and minimum 1.5 line spacing.

Sociological Science does not enforce stylistic requirements at the submission stage, provided that the manuscript adheres to general scientific norms regarding citation and the presentation of evidence. Except in extreme circumstances, reference format, font, margins, and other such trivia will not affect a manuscript’s duration in the editorial review process or its chances of acceptance. In extreme circumstances, however, the editorial staff reserves the right to ask authors to resubmit work.

Authors who wish to submit non-standard material (e.g., videos, animations) should contact the editorial staff for guidance.

Open Access License

Sociological Science applies the Creative Commons Attribution license (CC BY) to all works we publish. Under the CC BY license, authors retain ownership of the copyright for their article, but authors allow anyone to download, reuse, reprint, modify, distribute, and/or copy articles in Sociological Science, so long as the original authors and source are cited. No permission is required from the authors or the publishers.

By submitting a paper for consideration at Sociological Science, the authors of the paper are committing to grant a Creative Commons Attribution license to the article should it be accepted, and giving Sociological Science permission to publish the paper. Authors will be asked to affirm the terms of the CC BY license prior to publication.
